Harvesting

[Saitama/Kounosu] Let's make a vegetable set in an organic farming field! (harvesting experience)

1/5

Why don't you harvest vibrant seasonal vegetables grown without relying on pesticides or chemical fertilizers with your own hands? You can harvest your favorite vegetables while visiting the fields and take them home as a “My Vegetable Set” for 1 shopping basket per group. (*Depending on the season, there may be gifts of stored vegetables such as potatoes and pumpkins!)

At Uedi Farm, 60 items and over 100 varieties of vegetables are grown in the fields every year without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

Vegetables with unique taste and appearance, which are recognized by professional chefs and vegetable sommeliers, are waiting for you.

・Spring: potatoes, snap peas, leaf lettuce, fava beans, etc. ・Summer: eggplant (green, purple), okra (red, white), bitter melon, cream-colored bell pepper, sweet pepper, etc. ・Autumn: zucchini (green, yellow, lime), green beans, sweet potatoes, etc. ・Winter: Momonosuke (red turnip), beets, brussel sprouts, kale, etc.

There are also many vegetables you don't often see in supermarkets, and they are also used by advanced vegetable sommeliers, business trip chefs, and the 100 famous Tabelog restaurants. Since more than 100 varieties are grown each year, various vegetables are grown in the fields every season. Depending on when you come, the scenery you can see and the vegetables you can harvest will change.

The detailed meeting place (Hatake in Haramuro, Konosu-shi, Saitama) will be announced in a message after making a reservation. It is far from the nearest station, so please come by car.

◾️ Recommended for people like this ・You can actually touch the soil and experience how vegetables grow ・You can spend time in nature and feel refreshed ・Learn how to harvest rare vegetables and eat them deliciously straight from farmers ・Perfect for making memories and dietary education for parents and children

◾️ Experience flow (approx. 2 hours) 1. Guided field walk (30 minutes): Guide the field while explaining seasonal vegetables. While walking through the fields together, we look around for seasonal vegetables.

2. Harvest Experience (90 minutes): Harvest the basket full! I'll also talk about delicious cooking methods and storage methods. You can harvest only what goes into your shopping basket from the vegetables you can pick that day.

Depending on the vegetable, there are various ways to harvest it, such as pulling, cutting, picking, etc. Large vegetables come out of the soil, harvest vegetables you're not usually used to, and it's interesting to actually try it out.

3. Take pictures We will help you take one-scenes and group photos during the experience.

◾️ Please note ・The vegetables that can be harvested vary depending on the season, weather, and how the vegetables grow. ・Children under elementary school age should participate with their parents. ・It is not a field that specializes in harvesting experiences; it is a field where people farm every day. Weeds are growing, but in their place, rich ecosystems have been created, and insects can be seen here and there. ・Please refrain from harvesting large quantities of a single vegetable. Please use common sense for each vegetable to harvest as much as you can eat at home. ・It is at least a 30-minute walk away from the station, so please come by car. (It is a field in Haramuro, Konosu City, Saitama Prefecture.)

We look forward to seeing you in the fields!

・Clothes that can get dirty ・Hat/towel/boots (or shoes that can get dirty) ・Work gloves ・Drinks ・A bag to take home harvested vegetables ・If necessary, sunscreen, insect repellent, and regular medicine
